Rosberg leads opening Suzuka practice

– Nico Rosberg topped Friday morning's opening free practice session for the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, edging out Mercedes team-mate and new championship leader Lewis Hamilton.Having led from the early minutes, Rosberg worked his way down to a 1:35.461, ultimately finishing 0.151 seconds clear of Hamilton.Ferrari's Fernando Alonso – seen handing out grapes to his mechanics amid question marks over his Formula 1 future – was the best of the rest in third, albeit half a second adrift of Rosberg's pace-setting time.Valtteri Bottas was a further five tenths back, as the Williams team began analysing a major upgrade package for this weekend's race.After an improved showing at the...
