Telemetry issue hampers qualifying for Ericsson

Marcus Ericsson’s qualifying was hampered by a glitch with his telemetry, which materialised during the third and final practice session and forced his mechanics to change his chassis loom. The work required saw the Swedish rookie’s participation in qualifying delayed slightly, where he eventually qualified over six seconds off of the pace. During the final practice session Ericsson’s Caterham frustratingly began to suffer from a telemetry glitch, which added further stress to the team whilst they were striving to finalise their preparations for the all-important qualifying hour.
