Rosberg: Hamilton deserved it

Nico Rosberg has admitted it was a “pity” he didn't win the Italian Grand Prix, but added that team-mate Lewis Hamilton “drove a great race” and “deserved” to win. Rosberg took the lead at the start in his Mercedes, after Hamilton had problems off the line in the sister car due to a software glitch. The German then stayed out front until he came under pressure after the first – and only – stops, when he went straight on at the chicane on lap 29, repeating the same mistake he had made in the early stages. That allowed Hamilton in front and after that Rosberg was never really a threat, eventually finishing 3.1 seconds back in P2. The result means Rosberg's championship lead...
