McLaren confirms Whitmarsh departure

McLaren Mercedes McLaren has officially confirmed that Martin Whitmarsh has left the team. Whitmarsh was ousted as team principal at the start of the year when Ron Dennis regained control of the outfit and installed Eric Boullier into the new role of racing director. However, Whitmarsh still remained with McLaren despite no longer being involved in the Formula 1 operation. But McLaren has now confirmed that, following 24 years at the company, the duo 'have agreed amicably to part company.' McLaren is currently in fifth place in the Constructors' championship as they prepare for Honda's return from 2015.
