Hockenheim stats - Rosberg makes history on home turf

Nico Rosberg arrived in Germany having never stood on the podium in his home country - he leaves with his fourth win of the season, an increased lead over Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton in the world championship standings, and the honour of becoming the first German driver to win in Germany for a German car and engine manufacturer.With Sebastian Vettel winning last year’s event at the Nurburgring, Germany have now had two successive home victors, but Rosberg is the first German to win at Hockenheim since Michael Schumacher triumphed in the 2006 race for Ferrari.Less headline grabbing but equally noteworthy was the fact that Rosberg passed the 500 laps led mark during the race.
