Rosberg agrees to contract extension

Getty Images Enlarge Mercedes has agreed to a "multi-year contract extension" for championship leader Nico Rosberg. Rosberg joined Mercedes when it returned to the sport in 2010 and currently leads team-mate Lewis Hamilton by four points in the drivers' standings. Rosberg took his first career victory with Mercedes in 2012 and has since added five more to his name. "I am very proud to drive the Formula One Silver Arrow of the modern era," Rosberg said. "As a German, the heritage of Mercedes-Benz is very special for me, and I am proud to be able to represent the best car brand around the world.
