Paddock Postcard from Silverstone

Befitting this year’s British Grand Prix’s status as the 50th such race to be held at Silverstone since Luigi Villoresi won the first-ever event on October 2nd 1948, two years before the inauguration of the FIA Formula One World Championship, the atmosphere was one of spectacular celebration of the sport. As ever, the paddock teemed with famous faces from motor racing and other arenas. Paul di Resta hung out with multiple Indianapolis 500-winning cousin Dario Franchitti, Robin Brundle, Gordon Message and Rupert Manwaring greeted old friends, as did engineers Sergio Rinland, Frank Dernie and Enrique Scalabroni, while actor Michael Fassbender refuelled his need for speed as did...
