Maldonado Excluded from Qualifying after Fuel Issue

The Lotus F1 Team had a more impressive qualifying session than in recent races, with Romain Grosjean finishing eleventh and Pastor Maldonado fifteenth at Silverstone. Unfortunately for the Venezuelan, a problem with the amount of fuel in his car meant he was excluded from qualifying and will start down in twentieth, ahead of only the Caterham’s. Both Grosjean and Maldonado made it through to the second part of qualifying, but both missed out on the third part of qualifying after being caught out by the conditions and a yellow flag for the crashed Sauber of Esteban Gutierrez.
