Maldonado: No magic fix

Pastor Maldonado reckons such are Lotus' problems that even a switch to Mercedes power would not provide instant relief. Renault have been largely blamed for the problems that have befallen their teams at the start of the new 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 era. Lacking both power and reliability, Renault's runners have been besieged by problems. This has resulted in Lotus looking elsewhere with Autosport reporting that the F1 team is in "advance talks" with Mercedes. However, Maldonado says swapping suppliers won't solve all Lotus' problems.
