In memory of ... the 2002 Austrian Grand Prix

Despite a reputation for fast and furious racing around stunningly picturesque and undulating countryside, the Austrian Grand Prix will forever be remembered as the venue for one of Formula One's most undignified episodes at the close of the 2002 race. The A1 Ring, which hosted the Austrian Grand Prix from 1997-2003, established itself as a popular venue for incident-strewn and overtaking-laden races, a countryside Circuit Gilles Villeneuve of sorts, with the 1998 and 2001 races in particular serving up spectacular entertainment.
