Mercedes to test noise solution next week

Mercedes will evaluate the impact a modified tailpipe could have on noise emissions at next week's test in Spain.
Reports earlier in the day suggested that a solution could be tested during free practice on Friday, but Mercedes insists that any potential changes will not be trialled until next week's two-day test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Criticism about the noise produced by the sport's 1.6 litre v6 power units has been a prominent feature of the 2014 season, with several race promoters speaking out against the sound of the new engines.
