Gearbox problem curtails Hamilton's running
– Mercedes has confirmed that a gearbox problem truncated Lewis Hamilton's running on the second day of the final test in Bahrain. Hamilton completed 89 laps of the Sakhir circuit and set the seventh fastest time. The British driver recovered from a spin during the morning which caused a red flag period. "Once we got going Lewis put together a good run, with encouraging readings in particular during the middle stint on the hard tyre, before a failure in the ERS system delayed running during the final stint," said Mercedes chief Paddy Lowe.
