Nurburgring future remains in doubt

According to reports in the German media, Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone is no longer interested in purchasing the Nurburgring racetrack. Earlier this year, the 83-year-old was vocal in his interest in saving the track's heritage after it was alleged that the company running the complex is more than 400m euro in debt. "We have made an offer and now we wait to learn whether it will be accepted," Ecclestone told German newspaper Handelsblatt in January, "There are one or two other interested parties, but we believe that we can do more for the race track than anyone else, [and] an agreement could be reached as soon as the next few weeks.
