Ciaron Pilbeam leaves Lotus for McLaren
Ciaron Pilbeam has become the latest in a string of high-profile backroom staff to leave Lotus, jumping ship to McLaren for the 2014 Formula One season.
Pilbeam had worked as Mark Webber's engineer at Red Bull for a number of years, but he moved to Lotus ahead of the 2013 season to take over the role of chief race engineer from Simon Rennie, who moved in exactly the opposite direction.
However, after just a single season with Lotus, Pilbeam has now secured a switch to McLaren. The Woking-based team has been in the process of a backroom reshuffle for the last twelve months, culminating in Ron Dennis' return to the role of CEO last week.
