NASCAR's Haas interested in starting F1 team
– NASCAR team co-owner Gene Haas has confirmed that he is interested in setting up a Formula 1 team. "We have responded to the FIA's 'call for expression of interest' regarding a Formula 1 entry on behalf of Haas Racing Development," Haas, who co-owns the Stewart Haas Racing outfit, explained in a statement. "We respect the FIA's evaluation process and will share more details in the coming weeks." In December, the FIA announced a tender process for new teams to potentially join the grid from 2015 or 2016, with January 3 the deadline for expression of interest and February 10 the closing of full formal applications.
