Why Kimi Raikkonen left Lotus

When Kimi Raikkonen left Ferrari and Formula One at the end of the 2009 season, few would have imagined that the Finn would return to Maranello, a team he had ditched in less than amicable terms. But Raikkonen’s fire to compete in F1 was strong and Lotus provided him with the ideal platform to step on – or so it appeared. After two years with Enstone, where he remained in contention for the title at some point of both seasons despite just two paltry wins, Raikkonen left the team for greener pastures.
