Marko: Red Bull against double points
– Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has revealed that the team opposed the now ratified concept of awarding double points for the final race of the season. The Milton Keynes-based outfit sits on Formula 1's Strategy Group, which plays a role in passing new regulations along with Formula One Management (FOM) and governing body the FIA. On Monday, the double points move was agreed with immediate effect, meaning next year's Abu Dhabi finale will be the first race at which the system is implemented.
