Alonso rues mistake that cost P2
Getty Images Enlarge Fernando Alonso said it "was not difficult" for him to get second place on the grid for the Brazilian Grand Prix but bemoaned a mistake he made on his final lap. After wet conditions saw a delay between Q2 and Q3, the majority of the running still took place on the intermediate tyres in the final part of the qualifying as track conditions continued to improve. With Alonso improving on his final lap but then running off track before setting the fastest final sector he said he could have bridged the 0.4s gap to Nico Rosberg.
