Williams fined over wheel issue
Williams has been hit with a 60,000 fine after Pastor Maldonado's wheel issue during Friday practice for the Indian Grand Prix.The Venezuelan had just left the pits after a stop when the wheel fastener came away from the front-right wheel, although the wheel itself remained on the car.However, with the team having been punished in Japan when Maldonado lost a wheel in the first Friday session, stewards took a dim view of the incident and elected to hand out another large fine for a breach of the sporting regulations.“Examination of the parts concerned revealed that the wheel fastener had been cross threaded, thus not engaging the primary retaining plunger,” an FIA missive read. “This...
