Suzuka Practice 2: Vettel and Red Bull take command 11 October, 2013 Sebastian Vettel tops at the end of day one at Suzuka In what is becoming a typical story on the opening day of grand prix weekends: Red Bull play second fiddle to Mercedes in the morning FP1 session, but by the end of the afternoon the blue cars are top of the timing screens – ditto the opening day of the Japanese Grand Prix with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber leading the way, with the triple worldchampion fastest of all.
Vettel was the only driver to break into the 93 seconds zone, around the iconic Suzuka venue, with his best time of 1:33.652,which was 0.168 up on his teammate Mark Webber.
