P1: Alonso ahead in Spa rain
Fernando Alonso headed the Practice One timesheets for Ferrari as the Formula 1 season resumed after the summer break in famously inclement Spa-Francorchamps conditions on the opening morning of the Belgian GP.Despite early-week forecasts having suggested the famous Spa rain wouldn't arrive until Saturday at the earliest, the F1 fraternity arrived at the circuit on Friday morning with overcast skies above and soon light rain showers to ensure the 7km track was slippery for the start of the weekend's running.
