Button sacrifices qualifying for race strategy

Jenson Button qualified in 9th place for tomorrow's grid as he decided not to set a time in the final part of qualifying in order to be able to start the race on prime tyres. Sergio Pérez did not have an equally good day and qualified in 13th. Jenson Button, MP4-28A-03, 9th: “My lap in Q2 was about as good as it’s going to get for us at the moment – in fact, it was one of the best laps I’ve done in a very long time.
