Mercedes banned from young driver test, Pirelli reprimanded

The Tribunal in Paris has come to the conclusion that Mercedes is guilty of breaking the sporting rules by testing Pirelli tyres in Spain. The team is hence banned from the upcoming young driver test and was given a reprimand. The Tribunal, after having heard the parties and examined their submissions, decided that: - Mercedes be reprimanded; - Mercedes be suspended from participating in the forthcoming “three day young driver training test”; - Pirelli be reprimanded. All other and further conclusions were rejected. Yesterday's hearing was the first of the tribunal in its current guise, leading to a somewhat surprising result.
