Young driver practice sessions proposed for GPs
McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale believes that Formula One should introduce young driver practice sessions at each GP weekend in order to help develop new drivers.
Neale explained how a session held on a Friday morning would be wholly beneficial for all of the teams, with young drivers being given an extra set of tyres in order to allow for the running.
'I think there's certainly more Formula One can do with a Friday morning to give some time for young drivers,' he explained. 'The infrastructure is there, the circuit is there and running, the first 45 minutes of most sessions is characterised by an install lap and then a long wait.
