Van der Garde secures Caterham race seat
Giedo van der Garde has secured the second race seat at Caterham for 2013, completing the team's line-up alongside Charles Pic. Van der Garde fought off competition from 2012 incumbents Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov as well as outsiders such as Bruno Senna. He took part in six FP1 sessions for Caterham during the course of the 2012 season and also drove for its junior team, Caterham Racing, in GP2. He comes to the team with support from long-time sponsor McGregor. "I am absolutely delighted to confirm that I will be racing in the 2013 F1 World Championship with Caterham F1 Team," he said.
